Mughal reacts over statement of RTI worker

JAMMU, Aug 13: Reacting sharply over the recent demand of a Kashmir based RTI worker to stop accepting IPO’s as RTI fees on a false perception that the Indian Postal Order amount goes into the Central Government Bank account, RTI activist and Awake India (Poonch) chairman, Ayaz Mughal has expressed concern over the statement and also on the above unnecessary demand.
In a statement issued here, Mughal informed that the fees charged through IPO has to be redeemed by the concerned authorities from the Post Office which obviously goes into the account of State treasury. He said that the Indian Postal order (IPO) is one of the best modes of payment for RTI fees in the State and Central RTI Act.

He further said, “IPO in no case goes into the account of Union government’s treasury and the rule framed by the state government is very much justifiable”. He further advised the RTI workers not to issue such confusing and irrational statements regarding the basic laws
